Pieter holds two MSc degrees from Erasmus University Rotterdam (Financial Economics) and the London School of Economics (Accounting and Finance).

His first job was as a financial controller at the Air Cargo division of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

In 1998, Pieter joined DFI-Aeronomics, a boutique consultancy specialised in Revenue Management. When he resigned in 2010, this company had been taken over by Manugistics, which was later taken over by JDA Software (which has recently merged with Red Prairie).

Starting out as a business consultant, Pieter was involved closely with the development of the first comprehensive RM system for tour operators, for which TUI UK was the launch client. Thomas Cook UK and Haven Holidays also implemented this system, and recently one of the biggest Scandinavian operators started using it too.

Other companies Pieter worked with during his time at JDA include El Al, DHL, Cocal Cola (Latin America), WG&A Superferry (Philippines), British Airways, Kuoni and Swisscargo.

Pieter's responsibility on those projects varied enormously, from project management to training, and from business process restructuring and software design to account management.

In 2013, Pieter joined the committee of Revenue Management and Pricing International (, a member organisation dedicated to sharing RM related knowledge. He also sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management (

Having lived in and worked from the UK for many years, Pieter is now based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, together with his wife and two children.
