Benefits Simulation

The financial benefits of implementing comprehensive RM or price optimisation are hard to estimate, especially in tour operating, where very few companies deploy sophisticated RM applications. At JDA, we created a fairly simple simulation model and ran a number of scenarios. The outcome was a bit optimistic for price optimisation, probably due to the fact that we did not model the restrictions regarding price flexibility very precisely. However, the findings were still interesting, and the paper we produced offers good insight into the conceptual design of a price optimisation system in a tour operating environment.

This whitepaper summarises in a few pages which challenges were most prominent in a UK environment, and how these challenges were met.
